Plot
"The globe-spanning conflict between otherworldly monsters of mass destruction and the human-piloted super-machines built to vanquish them was only a prelude to the all-out assault on humanity in Pacific Rim Uprising. John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) stars as the rebellious Jake Pentecost, a once-promising Jaeger pilot whose legendary father gave his life to secure humanity’s victory against the monstrous “Kaiju.” Jake has since abandoned his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld. But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to tear through our cities and bring the world to its knees, he is given one last chance to live up to his father’s legacy by his estranged sister, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi)—who is leading a brave new generation of pilots that have grown up in the shadow of war. As they seek justice for the fallen, their only hope is to unite together in a global uprising against the forces of extinction. Jake is joined by gifted rival pilot Lambert (The Fate of the Furious’ Scott Eastwood) and 15-year-old Jaeger hacker Amara (newcomer Cailee Spaeny), as the heroes of the PPDC become the only family he has left. Rising up to become the most powerful defense force to ever walk the earth, they will set course for a spectacular all-new adventure on a towering scale. Pacific Rim Uprising is directed by Steven S. DeKnight (Netflix’s Daredevil, STARZ’s Spartacus) and also stars Jing Tian, Burn Gorman, Adria Arjona and Charlie Day."

Trivia
In a interview with Collider in November 2014, Guillermo del Toro talked about setting the stage for Pacific Rim 2 (2017) in stating: "It's a few years after the first one. It's not an immediate follow-up. It is the world having been freed of Kaiju, what happens to the world after - what happens to the Jaeger technology once the Kaiju are not a threat. It's quite a jump."

It was reported in 2016 that Charlie Hunnam would not be returning as Raleigh Becket.

Guillermo del Toro during an interview with Collider in November 2014, stated that Charlie Day's character Dr. Newton Geiszler & Burn Gorman's character Gottlieb are in the sequel with the respective actors (Day & Gorman) reprising their roles from Pacific Rim (2013) for the sequel. Del Toro commented on it, stating: "Yes. It's quite a different movie from the first one in that, but I think that two of our main characters like in the first one are Burn and Charlie. They are really, really - I mean, honestly, they are probably the guys I have the most fun writing along with Hannibal Chau so just from a purely selfish drive, I like writing them. I love writing for Charlie and Burn. I mean, [Burn's] in Crimson Peak (2015) for that reason, because I love working with him."

Pacific Rim Uprising (2018) pushed back the release date from August 4, 2017 to February 23, 2018. It was later pushed back another month to March 23, 2018.

Guillermo del Toro will not direct the sequel, however, he will be producing and writing the story for the movie.

John Boyega is producing as well as playing the lead role of Jake Pentecost.

Warner Bros. Pictures, who produced the 1st film with Legendary Pictures until 2014 will release the film internationally. Universal, who collaborated with Legendary currently will distribute the film domestically.

Guillermo del Toro stepped down as a director, in order to direct The Shape of Water(2017) instead.

Bracer Phoenix is just the second Mark-5 Jaeger, the first being Striker Eureka. All of the other Jaegers, (Gipsy Avenger, Saber Athena, Titan Redeemer, Guardian Bravo) are Mark-6's.

In the official trailer, there is a black and orange Jaeger called Obsidian Fury that appears to be fighting with Gipsy Avenger.

This will be Steven S. Deknight first Blockbuster movie he's directing, after writing and directing in TV shows.

Reunites Spartacus: War of the Damned (2010) cast members Steven S. DeKnight, Nick E. Tarabay, Dustin Clare, and Daniel Feuerriegel.

This is the first Pacific Rim feature to be shot in Panavision (anamorphic) 2.39:1, a format favored by DP Dan Mindel.

The directorial debut of Steven S. DeKnight.

Warner Bros. Pictures will not distribute the film in the international worldwide.

This review will be a little shorter than the previous ones because of the fact, that the Byakuya Gang arc is now finished, and it is again time for some filler episodes. Nevertheless, this episode was quite enjoyable, because we get to see some side characters shine.

OMG! Kokoro is such a bad girl! This week’s episode is mainly focused on Mitsuru and Kokoro. Their character development is amazing. I had a grudge against Mitsuru because of his dick-move in episode 3. However, after seeing this episode I think he is in fact a good guy. Adding to that, the Kokoro x Mitsuru ship is sailing strong!

Wow! Wow! Wow! We finally get to see Meliodas very emotional. To be honest, I almost chocked up seeing the heart wrenching scenes with Liz. In my opinion, this was the best and most emotional episode of Nanatsu no Taizai yet. I am so pumped up to see the Seven Deadly Sins develop even more.

This week’s episode was very enjoyable. This iteration of the Seven Deadly Sins was split into two parts. The first half was rather emotional with the back story of Ban and Zhivago and second was more light-hearted. However, at the end, the story got more and more tense, escalating into the confrontation by King of Meliodas and his past with the Ten Commandments.

In this week, we get a Zorome focused episode. I didn’t quite enjoy this episode as much as the last one, which was really epic. However, there was a lot of world building and clarifications on the purpose of adults in this world. Zorome had a lot of screen time in which he had a lot of development.

The tale of fanservice continues for our mech pilots. Sexuality and nudity are the main themes in this episode. After a wardrobe failure, the girls are trying to keep their distance from the boys. However, Zero Two, being best-girl, is doing everything she can to sabotage all the effort by the girls, which results in formidable and enjoyable situations. Man, I would do terrible things to be Hiro.

In this episode we got again glorious battle scenes, which were expertly animated by Studio Trigger and A1-Pictures. However, with this episode I am quite worried for the future of this series. Hiro’s tumour just vanished, without any consequences for our protagonist. I hope that the characters of this series don’t get a to big of a Plot-Armor, which would ruin the vibe of this 24-episode long anime. Having said that, I am very pleased with this episode and I am looking forward to next week.

Wow, wow, wow! This episode had so much going on. The romantic tensions in the last episodes got finally their pay off. And damn, it was beautiful to see Goro coping with his feelings for Ichigo. I admit, I am completely addicted to this show!
