Nanatsu no Taizai Season 2 Episode 3 - Anime Review
Nanatsu no Taizai 2 is still going strong with this episode. This wasn’t my favourite episode so far, but it doesn’t mean it won’t get better in the future. I am definitely hyped to see the upcoming epic fight.
At the beginning of this episode, Elizabeth is still unconscious and has a strange dream about Meliodas. After being woken up by Meliodas they run to help Diane, who is still fighting against Gowther. Diane is able to defeat Gowther after a short skirmish and the help of Meliodas and Merlin. However, the city has been damaged. Gowther give the memories back to his victims and asks Meliodas to lock him away before he loses himself. Merlin follows his wish and transforms Gowther to his original form, which is a small mannequin. Slader from the Roars of Dawn appears for the first time and he has a conversation with the Seven Deadly Sins in the Boar Hat. Meliodas wants to send Elizabeth away because he has the feeling that the future might get dangerous for the young woman. This hurts Elisabeth and she get out of the pub. Slader goes after her to comfort her. Merlin suddenly sense a strange magical presence close to a near by city and the Seven Deadly Sins hurry to its rescue. A huge golem threatens to destroy the entire city. The Forest of the Fairies is also attacked by a different golem. Will the Seven Deadly Sins be able to defeat both threats?
Gowther obviously wants to have feeling by his own. His character development will surely be part of this story. Furthermore, the looming threat by the ten commandments, who get stronger, will surely be the main conflict in this season. Of course, the romance between Diane and King or Elisabeth and Meliodes will be explored more in this series.
This wasn’t my favourite episode so far of Nanatsu no Taizai 2. But I am still looking forward to seeing the progression of the different characters. This episode was very shonen-esque which is likely to turn a lot of newcomers away. We will see what this series will bring in the future.
